Music Mondays: “Boston” by Augustana

Music Mondays

Music Mondays is a book meme where you share a song you really like. It is hosted by The Tattoed Book Geek.

Look at that! It’s Monday again!

I totally forgot to do Music Monday last week. There was an emergency at work, and I went on to remedy it. I guess it occupied more of my mind than I thought it did.

Anyway, here I am again, back with a new song pick. It’s been raining a lot the past couple of weeks where I am. I don’t know about you, but rainy days makes me feel melancholic. Today’s pick is one of the songs I’ve been listening to (again) the past couple days.

Boston is probably one of the songs that defined my post-graduation years. I’ve always been a better student. For years, I followed rules and routines, and, I guess, after graduation, I kind of just felt lost without those rules and routines. I felt out of control, unsure, and I questioned myself to no end. Needless to say, my early 20s up to the middle of my late 20s were some of my toughest years.

Things are a little bit better know. Some days I even think I have mastered adulthood. (Nope. Not a chance. You just get by, and fake it til you make it.) But I always look back to those post-grad years every time I feel down, if only to remind me how far I’ve already come.

Okay…that was a bit heavy. 😬😬😬 I’m sorry if I overshared. I blame the rain.

If you want some more, here’s my rainy days playlist. It’s totally stuck in the early 2000s because most of my favorite songs were released in those years. Hope you enjoy it.

Great share, Rachel! I will have to check out your rainy day playlist because I remember when this song came out, I could not get enough of it! The 20s are tough. So much self doubt and trying to figure out your path. You definitely are not alone. 😊 Happy new week!
