Music Mondays: “Ash and Ember” by Augustana

Music Mondays

Music Mondays is a book meme where you share a song you really like. It is hosted by The Tattoed Book Geek.

Hey there! Happy Monday!

It’s already the start of the last week of the first month of this new year. Was that confusing? Play of words aside, how has January been for you? Was it great? Just fine? Bad? Mine was just fine, I guess. It was neither good nor bad and I’m actually just okay with that. Of course, that’s not counting the fact that I’ve been sick for two weeks with the flu, which sucked, but, yeah, January was an okay month.

I recently finished Melanie Dickerson’s The Warrior Maiden and Jessie Mihalik’s Polaris Rising, which I already reviewed (here’s the link.) I enjoyed these two books a lot and can’t wait for it to come out so many more people gets to enjoy them. I also started reading Veronica Roth’s Carve the Mark, a book that has been languishing on my TBR for more than a year now, and Tara Conklin’s newest The Last RomanticsI’m hoping to finish the latter sometime before the end of the month since the book is coming out next Tuesday, and I would love to have my review of it up before it releases. Keeping my fingers crossed for that!

This Monday has been relatively easy for me. I’m actually feeling kind of nostalgic, so I broke out an old favorite album by one of the band’s I loved when I was in college.

I just kind of missed this song! And Augustana! The band hasn’t released any new material for a couple of year now. I’m not even sure if they’re still together, but I still love their songs and play them from time to time. This one actually played right when I was getting out of the building where our offices are located. The wind was cool and my hair was all over the place because it escaped my hair tie again, and I just couldn’t stop myself from singing along while I walk to the shuttle. I got a few stares, but who cares. They could sing along too if they like.

Anyway, that’s it for me today. I’m going to finish some CME videos (got to keep up with the clinical trends and new knowledge) then I’ll go back to reading. Here’s me wishing you a lighthearted Monday, maybe even better than mine.
