Music Mondays: “Riverside” by Agnes Obel

Music Mondays

Music Mondays is a book meme where you share a song you really like. It is hosted by The Tattoed Book Geek.

Happy Monday everyone!

My MM pick today is kind of inspired by the book I recently finished, Strange Grace by Tessa Graton.

Strange Grace was all sorts of wonderful! Beautifully haunting and just richly imagined, and I thought this song by Agnes Obel pretty much reflects mood of this story.

If you’re lucky enough to have read Strange Grace ahead of its release tomorrow, lucky you! If you haven’t, please, please get this book. I highly recommend it! I cannot write my review of the book yet because my company sent me to a professional convention and, well, I wouldn’t have a lot of time (and writing reviews do take a lot of time, something I’d want to get to discuss in a future post someday). I expect to get down to it later this weekend though.

I hope you enjoyed my song pick today. Here’s me wishing you all a great week ahead. Don’t forget to be kind to others and to yourself.

Can’t-Wait Wednesday: “Strange Grace” by Tessa Graton

Can't Wait Wednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted Tressa at Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Today’s CWW pick is a fantasy that features magic and witches and a pack with the devil.

32824058Once, a witch made a pact with a devil. The legend says they loved each other, but can the story be trusted at all? Find out in this lush, atmospheric fantasy novel that entwines love, lies, and sacrifice.

Long ago, a village made a bargain with the devil: to ensure their prosperity, when the Slaughter Moon rises, the village must sacrifice a young man into the depths of the Devil’s Forest.

Only this year, the Slaughter Moon has risen early.

Bound by duty, secrets, and the love they share for one another, Mairwen, a spirited witch; Rhun, the expected saint; and Arthur, a restless outcast, will each have a role to play as the devil demands a body to fill the bargain. But the devil these friends find is not the one they expect, and the lies they uncover will turn their town—and their hearts—inside out.

I will be starting on Strange Grace today, and I’m pretty excited for it. Who wouldn’t be? This book got me at witches! Secrets! Well, you get what I mean. (Right?)

Strange Grace releases on September 18. Meanwhile, you can already pre-order it:

IndieBound | Book Depository | Barnes & Noble | Amazon | Books-a-Million | Powells
